Women. Power. Peace.

Carol Shea-Porter (NH-01)

Congresswoman Carol Shea-Porter is proudly serving New Hampshire’s 1st District. As the first woman elected to national office in the history of her state, she is currently seeking a third term. Representative Shea-Porter is a member of the House Armed Services Committee, the Committee on Education and Labor, and the Natural Resources Committee.

WAND distinguishing points: Rep. Shea-Porter has spoken against the war in the Iraq, stating, “The Iraq war has destabilized the region, weakened our military, and inflamed terrorist organizations worldwide.” She believes that Iran should be prevented from attaining nuclear weapons, but does not advocate “rushing to war without clear provocation, as we did in Iraq.”

Post Election Update: Carol Shea- Porter lost her race.
